Which team will Ben Johnson coach in 2025? The Detroit Lions offensive coordinator and play-caller has emerged as one of the top coaching candidates of this year’s hiring cycle.
There are still six head coaching vacancies, but Johnson has only interviewed for three of the jobs. So far, Johnson has virtually interviewed with the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Las Vegas Raiders. He also interviewed with the New England Patriots, who quickly decided to hire Mike Vrabel instead.
Yet, now there are indications that Johnson has narrowed down his job possibilities down to two teams.

Ben Johnson may be down to Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders

Making a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that he “does not expect Ben Johnson to be in play” for the Dallas Cowboys.
While doing so, he suggested Johnson may have narrowed his choices down to two teams.
“I know everybody has Ben Johnson anointed to the Raiders but I’m not in that camp right now.. I don’t know where he’s gonna go but he’s gonna have three realistic options.. Why is everybody ignoring Chicago when it comes to Ben Johnson.”

Johnson could always do what he’s done in the past two seasons, and that is return to the Detroit Lions for another year. Perhaps his future depends on how far the Lions go and if they can win the first Super Bowl in franchise history.
For now, he appears closer than ever to jumping ship and landing the first NFL head coaching opportunity of his career.
